The Program Council recessed due to fund drive from October 11th to October 28th. The next regularly scheduled Program Council meeting will be Tuesday November 1, 2005.

September 27, 2005    APPROVED

I - Announcements / Agenda/ Administrative

Approved September 20 minutes with one modification: change in wording from "in the best interests of the station as a whole"  to  "in the best interests of the program and the station as a whole".

II - Ongoing Programming

Decided to include the Bill Mandel program with the Cycle 6 evaluations - recommendation to be proritized for the first week the program council meets after the fall fund drive - due to expiration of the contract.

Carried over Africa Today contract renewal conversation to October 4th meeting.

III - Special Programming

Discussed problems with September 24th planned broadcast of the anti-war march related to equipment arriving late. To be continued at October 4th meeting.

Discussed Labor Collective objections to the time and date approved for the state special election call-in show. Voted to reschedule the broadcast from November 5th to October 29th (Vote 8Y, 3N, 1A). Time and length of program to remain the same. (10am-12noon). Labor Collective told in writing that the station reserves the right to pre-empt the program if the fund drive runs over onto the 29th.

Handed out possible framework for possible later discussion on Democracy Now broadcast time. Program Council to review. Schedule for discussion is post-fall fund drive in mid-November.

IV - The rest of the session was a dedicated communications workshop facilitated by Liam Kirsher.
