I - Announcements/ Agenda/Administrative
Approved November 22 minutes with one modification: change of Annie Hallat from the present to the excused category in the attendance record.
Noted with great sadness the recent death of LSB member Ted Friedman.
Discussed impact on program council roster. Stan Woods, as the next runner-up in the last LSB election, will be assuming Ted's seat on the LSB, and resigning from his position as a community representative on the program council. Annie Hallat to research the next runner-up from the community rep candidates in 2004, to confirm candidate and whether or not they are available to take the position for the rest of the
term.
II - On-Going Programming
Discussed renewal decision on Thinking Out Loud with Bill Mandel pilot. Voted not to offer a new contract (11-4). Discussed possible options for featuring Bill Mandel on-air in the future. Amelia Gonzalez-Garcia (PA Director) to explore these further with Bill and some community representatives and report back in early January.
III - Special Programming
Announced a one hour special on prisons and profits - to be scheduled by PA Department sometime in the next month
Announced that December 10th proposal from Labor Collective was declined due to craft-fair related programming, but that a 30 minute pre-recorded segment planned as a part of that show would be aired. Arrangements to be made by Maxine Doogan and Vini Beachum.

I - Announcements/Agenda/Administrative
Approved 11/15 minutes with two modifications: changing 4 weeks to 6 weeks on the host change policy discussion and adding some text to the discussion of the Cupertino protest.
Discussed possible dates for Arbitron presentation of January 10th or 24th, and possible presenters to discuss applicability of reports to KPFA - Melanie Berzon or Jim Bennett. Aileen to coordinate.
Reminders about December 2 event with Angela Davis and December 6 broadcast of Spearhead concert.
II - Evaluations
Against The Grain was approved for a year-long contract.
Discussed time-sensitivity of Thinking Out Loud evaluation (due to contract expiration) and confirmed that all evaluators are completing their work and public affairs department to bring recommendation to November 29th meeting.
III - On-Going Programming
Discussed host change policy and agreed on the following:
1) Program council to be notified promptly of any host changes that exceed six weeks of vacation coverage
2) The station to immediately re-issue the programming contract with the new parties after a change occurs.
IV - Special Programming
Lemlem brought the to-date crafts fair entertainment schedule for program council review. Program Council appreciated that feedback from last year's schedule was incorporated into this year's schedule.
Reviewed labor collective feedback regarding October 29th state special election programming
V - Long-Term Issues
Kris and Amelia agreed to speak with Vini Beachum (program coordinator) about a possible schedule for meeting attendance on his return from vacation.
Discussed refraining from crititques of departmental coverage until department heads are present to hear and respond.
